Great Camp Adventure Walk

Do you like walking? Spending time with friends and family? What about having FUN? On Saturday, September 27, you can enjoy all three of these plus much, much more by taking part in the Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure Walk.

What’s the Great Camp Adventure Walk all about you ask? Over the course of one day, more than a thousand walkers — young and young at heart — will take to the streets of downtown Toronto, united in a common goal of supporting SickKids and helping to improve children’s health. Starting at historic Fort York, it is an adventure walk designed so anyone and everyone can participate. Walk as far as your feet will take you on your route and stop at activity-filled campsites along the way. And you can choose where you’d like to end … at the 5 km, 10 km, 15 km or 20 km finish lines. It’s totally up to you.

Included in the day are breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tasty snacks and drinks along the way. And when your day is done, return to Fort York to celebrate your achievements, partake in more FUN activities and take part in closing ceremonies.

And the best part? When you register to take part in the Great Camp Adventure Walk, every step you take is helping to support SickKids. Every year SickKids sees more than 100,000 children and every dollar matters. Your FUNdraising efforts will support the Possibilities Fund at SickKids. This fund is available for any of the hospital’s most urgent needs, including providing the best, most innovative care to patients. It allows SickKids to invest in research projects so that scientists can change the future of kids’ health, and to train doctors who care for children across Canada and around the world. The Possibilities Fund supports people, programs, equipment and physical infrastructure, and allows SickKids to continue to be the exceptional place it is.

But FUNding goes much further than that. It means SickKids can invest in research programs and training, maintaining their position as a leader in paediatric wellness. Through a commitment to providing more than just care, SickKids actively seeks new and innovative ways to improve children’s health, to enhance the patient experience and to ensure that successes are shared globally. Every child benefits from the learning that takes place at SickKids.

So now that you know a little more about the Great Camp Adventure Walk, it’s time to rally your friends and family together and register! Check out our website: to learn more about event day, fundraising and how you can participate. You can also call us at 416-445-3377. One of our Camp Counsellors would be more than happy to help you out with any questions you may have and help get you started on your adventure.

We of course couldn’t make this day possible without the support of our partners, like Muskoka Bear Wear. With their support, the Great Camp Adventure Walk promises to be an exciting experience for the whole family. Thank you Muskoka Bear Wear!

We hope to see you on September 27! Together We Walk For Healthier Kids.

After learning of the general location of the body of a local boy who has been missing for several days, they set off into woods to see it. Along the way, they learn about themselves, the meaning of friendship and the need to stand up for what is right.

In the movie that defined the "Summer Camp" comedy, explores the wacky hijinks of counselors and campers at a less-than-average summer camp.
